Why January is known as the "break-up month" for couples.

I guess there's a reason why I can't seem to recall a single prior New Year's Eve where I had someone to kiss.  I'm sure there must have been a NYE where I had a partner actually present at midnight and wasn't someone I was pissed at, but none come to mind.

Fortunately, this year will stand out in my memory as the year I got to kiss one guy and make out with another at the same party.

*EDIT*
Ah ha!  I did remember on occasion!  I was 16 and dating a guy who was 19.  We went to a friend's NYE party that mostly involved as many of his friends as he could cram in his room to drink and watch TV because his grandmother was home and a little crazy.  My then-bf, Geo, and I somehow managed to take over the entire bed and started making out.  Eventually we ended up under the covers and by midnight had started having sex, even with everyone else around us watching TV.

Yeah, never had much sense of propriety, have I.  But that was at least one NYE that I had a partner present at midnight and wasn't pissed at.  So that makes 3 NYE kisses in 2 NYE parties.  I've got to stop dating long-distance and it would be nice to have relationships not go south on me at the year-ish mark, just in time for the holidays.
