Tip: Police and emergency personnel look for address book entries on phones labled ICE - In Case of Emergency when they find a body or unconscious person. Put your emergency contact person's info in your phone and label it as ICE. I'm also told coffee shop baristas also look for ICE when they find lost cell phones.

Hmmm. In my limited experience, people who find lost cell phones call "Mom". And in one case, scared the crap out of her when they got her on the line.

Just passing on the official position of the various emergency agencies like police and EMT. They even make ICE apps for iphone and android. Looking for an entry labeled "mom" is likely what they do when the person does not have an ICE entry, but in many cases, "mom" may not be the appropriate person to call.

My mother lives 3,000 miles away and does not have access to my legal paperwork or even my house, nor does she have the phone numbers of people who are likely to be able to contact me when my cell is missing. My local boyfriend is a much more appropriate person to call in case of emergency or if I lose my phone.
